If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.1.Definitions“Company”, “we”, “us” refers to Stockport joinery.“client”, “customer”, “you”, refers to the person or company instructing works supplied by Stockport joinery.2.Acceptance of Estimate/ Formation of ContractAcontract is formed when the client:Accepts the estimate verbally or in writingReplies by email, text message or WhatsApp confirming acceptancePays a depositRequests a start dateAllows work to commenceNo physical signiture is rewuired for these terms & conditons to become binding.All estimates are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated3.Estimates & QuotationsAll estimates are based on the information availabkle at the time of quoting.Hidden issues may exist which cannot reasonably be identified until works commence, including but not limitied to:Rotten timberDamaged pipeworkUnsafe electricsDamp or water ingressUneven floors or wallsStructural movementAsbestos containing materialsIncorrect previous workmanshipAny additional works required due to unforseen issues will be discussed with the client and charged separately.Unless Specifically stated, estimates do not include:Structural engineeringPlanning permissionBuilding Control feesSkip permitsParking permitsSpecialist surveysAsbestos removalUtility upgrade works4.DepositsA deposit may be required to secure diary dates, order materials and schedule works.Deposits are non refundable once:Materials have been orderedLabour has been scheduledSpecialist products have been manufacturedThe agreed cancellation period has expiredFailure to pay deposits on time may result in delayed commencement dates.5.Staged PaymentsFor larger projects, staged payments will apply.Typical staged payments may include:Deposit prior to commencementIterim payments during worksFinal payment upon substantial completionStage payments are due immediately upon invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.Failure to make staged payments may result in:Suspension of worksRemoval from scheduleDelayed completionAdditional costs for remobilisationOwnership of supplied goods and materials remains with Stockport joinery until paid for in full.6.Final paymentsFinal balances are due immediately upon completion of works unless otherwise agreed in writing.Completion is defined as:Works substantially completed for intended useMinior snagging items outstandingCustomer occupation/ use of areaFixtures or fittings operationalSnagging items do not justify witholding full payment.7.Additional Works/ VariationsAny additional work requested by the client outside of the original quotation shall be treated as a variation.Variations may include:Additional tilingJoinery changesExtra electrical/ plumbing worksLayout alterationsUpgraded materialsRepair works discovered during installationVariations may affect:Final costCompletion datesLabour requirementsVariatons can be accepted verbally, by message, email or by instruction on site.8.Materials & Supply IsuuesWhere the client supplies materials, fixtures r fittings:The Company accepts no resonsibilty for defects, shortages, delays or incompatibility.Additional labour caused by unsuitable products will be chargeable.Delays caused by late deliveries may affect completion dates.Material shortages, discontinued products, supplier delays or manufacturing issues are outside our control.Equivalent alternative products may be offered where necessary.9.Access & Working ConditionsThe client shall provide:Safe and reasonable accessElectricity.Water supply.Toilet facilities.Adequate parking where possible.Delays caused by restricted access, other trades, client interference or unavailable areas may incure additional charges.Working hours are generally Monday - Friday between 8:30am - 4:30pm.Some shifts may be longer or shorter due to nature of works being completed that day.10.DelaysCompletion dates are estimates only.Stockport Joinery shall not be liabkle for delays caused by:WeatherSupplier shortagesManufacuring delaysIllnessCustomer changesUnforseen structural or hidden defectsEvents outside reasonable controlReasonable extensions of time shal appy where necessary.11.Client ResponsibiltyThe client is responible for:Removing valuables and fragile items.Ensuring pets and children are kept away form working areasObtaining permissions required for worksInforming neighbours where appropriateEnsuring adequate insurance cover remains in place12.Existing ConditionsWhile every care is taken, works involving renovation may affect existing finishes, including:Cracking to plasterMinor paint damageDust transferVibration related movementPerfect matches to existing finishes cannot be guaranteed.13.Cleanliness & Site ProtectionWe pride ourselves on maintaining clean and tidy working environments.Protective coverings may include:Corex floor protectionDust sheetsProtective filmsHowever, due to the nature of building works, some dust and disruption is unavoidable.14.Waste RemovalWaste removal is included only where specifically stated within the quotation.Where skips are required:Skip locations may require permits.Permit costs are chargeable unless stated otherwise.The company reserves the right to leave reusable or salvageable materials on site unless disposal has been agreed.15.Cooling Off Period, Deposits & Cancellation RightsUnder the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, domestic customers may be entitled to a 14 day cooling off period from the date of accepting the quotation or estimate.By accepting the quotation, paying a deposit, requesting a start date, requesting materials to be ordered or instructing Stockport joinery to commence works within the 14 day cooling off period, the client expressly agrees for works and/ or material ordering to begin immediately. The client acknowledges and agrees that:Deposits are used to secure diary dates, allocate labour, purchase materials and cover administration costs.Deposits may become non refundable once materials are ordered, labour is scheduled, bespoke items are manufactured or works have commenced.If the client cancels the contract after materials have been orderd or works have commenced, the client shall remain liable for:All works completed up to the cancellation date.Materials ordered or supplied.Bespoke or non returnable items.Labour and administration costs.Any reasonable loss of earnings or rebooking costs.Where cancellation occurs within the 14 day cooling off period after works have commenced, Stockport Joinery reserves the right to charge for all labour, materials, services and administrative costs incurred up to the cancellation date.Bespoke, made to order or special order products may be non refundable once ordered from suppliers.Failure to pay deposits or staged payments on time may result in delays, suspension of works or removal from the schedule.Acceptance of these Terms & Conditions may be made verbally, by email, WhatsApp, text message, payment of deposit, instruction to proceed or commencement of works. A physical signiture is not required fr these Terms and Conditions to become legally binding.16.Suspension of WorksStockport Joinery reserves the right to suspend works where:Payments are overdue.Unsafe conditions exist.Abuse or threatening behavour occurs.Client instructions conflict with regulations.Additional costs caused by suspension may be chargeable.17.GuaranteesWorkmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from practical completion.This guarantee excludes:General wear and tear.Customer damage.Movement/ cracking caused by property settlement.Lack of maintenance.Defects in customer supplied products.Silicone, grout and sealants subject to natural ageing.Manufacturer warranties remain with the product manufacturer.18.LiabilityStockport joinery maintains public liability insurance.Our liability is limited to the value of the contracted works supplied.We shall not be liable for:Consequential lossesLoss of earningsAlternative accommodation costsDelays outside our control19.Photography & MarketingThe company may photograph works for:Portfolio use.Social media.Website marketing.No personal information or identifying details will be shared without permission.Clients may request in writing that photographs are not used.20.DisputesAny concerns should be raised in writing within 7 days of discovery.Both parties agree to attempt reasonable resolution before legal proceedings.21.Payment MethodsPayments are accepted via:Bank transferCash (where agreed)Bank transfer details provided on invoices ahould always be checked carefully before payment due to increasing fraud risks.Stockport Joinery accepts no responsibility for losses caused by payments sent to incorrect bank details due to email interception or fraud.22.Late PaymentsLate payments may incur:Interest chargesDebt recovery feesLegal costsSuspension of ongoing or future works23.AgreementAcceptance of these Terms & Conditions may be made verbally, by email, WhatsApp, text message, payment of deposit, instruction to proceed or commencement of works. A physical signiture is not required for these Terms and Conditions to become legally binding.24.Amendments to these Terms & ConditionsThe Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time by posting the updated version on its website. Your continued use of the Service after any such amendments constitutes your acceptance of the amended Terms and Conditions.
